This robust bracelet was designed by William Spratling, an American designer and Architect who is credited for developing silver smithing which made the Mexican city of Taxco known for hand made silver jewelry. This particular bracelet would have been very unusual in design for its time. Later on in the 20th century, Post War Modernism took hold and became more mainstream. However, there was a finite number of these hand made artisan pieces, and they will only increase in value and desirability. Whereas this bracelet is not the only one of this design, this one was made especially well and these pieces are scarce due to their limited production.
This bracelet would be suitable for up to a 7" wrist. It is shown on a 7" wrist. It cannot be stretched to accommodate a larger wrist or bent to fit a small wrist due to the rivets which attach the wood to the silver. The bracelet would be damaged if this is attempted. So if you are considering this bracelet, please keep this in mind.
