These super sparkly diamond wings began as a WW2 sweetheart brooch which was expertly made into a necklace. The chain is also sparkly due to its faceted links and is adjustable in length. Please take note of the hand made quality of the settings. Instead of seeing round drill holes behind the diamonds, we see crisp square reverse mounts. The wings could predate the war and are are a rare find since most were rhinestones set in silver. In addition, during the war platinum was not used in jewelry since it was needed for the war effort. In my research, I found Royal Air Force brooches with some platinum and diamonds, sometimes embellished with a little enamel, but this very wearable Art Deco style is hard to come by.
The wings measure 1 1/2" across and the length of the necklace can be worn at 17 1/2" or 19 1/2". The chain is modern and has a lobster claw clasp.
