Long and Lovely Victorian 14k Fringe Tassel earrings and Brooch Demi Parure circa 1870

This bold Victorian set boasts long foxtail chain tassel fringe and is in excellent condition. The set was hand constructed, meaning made from gold sheet, not cast. This is why the edges and chased surfaces are so crisp. The hand stopped surface adds sparkle and the long fringe imparts wonderful movement, especially since the tassels are attached to the earrings and brooch with jump rings. The earrings wires are original and substantial, and clip at the base for security. Many Victorian earrings were later converted to screw backs in the 20th century but these beautiful earrings survived unscathed. They are also unusually long, which imparts a bold and slightly modern edge. A jeweler, preferably with s laser, could add a bale discreetly to the reverse of the brooch if you wanted to wear it as a pendant. , or even relocate the hook at the bottom of the brooch for this purpose. The set tested 14k gold by both myself and my estate jeweler and weighs over 20 grams! This is a rare opportunity to own such a set!
