Incredible Large Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Earrings in Original Box!

These circa late 18th century earrings are truly a once in a lifetime find. The box appears to be original and is made of bent wood. This box clearly served them well. The foils behind the diamonds are still bright and make these beauties sparkle!
These earrings were previously listed and sold in 3 days. The buyer loved them, but could not manage the back to front closures and ultimately decided that they were too large for her. I happen to have a excellent jeweler with a laser torch, the only one I would trust with these earrings, and of course he did an excellent job converting them to shepherd's hooks. The front to back closures that they had were done in antiquity, but as I explained in the original listing they were not original to the earrings, so I felt that the conversion was justified. These rose cut diamonds are unusually large and of good color and clarity, which is not the norm for antique rose cuts. One of the large teardrop diamonds is slightly larger than the other and the other is very chunky. This is not a defect. Remember that they are over 200 years old and the settings were hand made for each stone. The diamonds are truly remarkable. They are not grey or included. They are of exceptional quality and are for the serious collector of Georgian jewels!
