1920s Deco 14k White Gold Diamond Star Necklace .40 carat

This diamond star necklace features bright beautiful Old European cut diamonds that are expertly bead set in 14k white gold. The gold of the star was tested and the chain, which may have been attached later, is stamped 14k. The central diamond measures approximately 4.25 mm and the 5 surrounding diamonds are 2mms each, bringing the total carat weight to well over 40 points. The old European cut diamonds are chunkier than modern cut diamonds, and exhibit plenty of fire. These are excellent quality diamonds, and the setting with its milgrain edges is far superior to most modern diamond star pendants which are usually cast settings. Note the curved top of this setting which is soldered to the underside. The necklace measures 15 3/8" in length, but can easily be extended with a chain extender.
